ASA Memories
by Kat (kittehkat)
at October 11th, 2007 (04:06 pm)

Please leave your favorite memories of your school days here or at my journal, particularly the ones that are funnyor ridiculous, and uniquely ASA, if you would be so kind. I'm working on a writing project of sorts and would really appreciate it. :)

Make what you want as a tutor. Pay what you want for a tutor.

Trying to spread the word to everyone out there paying more than they want for a tutor or making less than they want as a tutor.  Take a look at SelectATutor.com.  Tutors list their credentials and self-chosen wage in each subject.  For tutors, this means you make exactly what you want per hour in any subject you want.  For those in need of tutors, this means you get the benefit of competition.  Since you choose your tutors based on their prices and credentials, tutors compete for you.  I’ve found it’s a great way to pull in some really quick and easy extra money as a tutor.  It’s also got tutors in just about every subject.

Tutors, you can list yourself under as many subjects as you want for only $8.95 per month.

Mod Post

Hey, guys. Two and a half things.

I switched the journal to S2, if anyone cares. Anyhow...

Current Students: Are there any upper/lower classmen who would like the take over the moderation of this community? Currently, the most activity it from those who just graduated and it's mostly used by alumni. In an effort to stay in touch with current news and events at the school, I'd urge someone who still attends ASA to offer moderation. I'd be happy to transfer it over to you.

Recent Alumni: I'd just like to mention that once you get your school's email you should join Facebook. A lot of alumni are on there and it keeps you in touch with your classmates. It's kind of like a Myspace without the drama, unlimited pic/album uploads, and networking LJ doesn't offer. I'd urge you to join and friend the alumni you know.

Your moderator,

Once you receive your college address/mailing information, please forward it on to eddie.jensen@gmail.com. Also, please pass this on to fellow ASA2006 members who don't have LJs.

I'm going to maintain a list of class addresses so that we can send actual letters and cards to people. Because a card is sometimes really nice to receive in the mail.

ASA Poetry Slam 2006

current song: Piano Concerto no. 21 in C Major: II. Andante (WA Mozart)

While I'm on a roll, here's something to consider.

This Friday (7 April) is ASA's first annual Poetry Slam. Come and hear poetry, recite poetry, and enjoy poetry! The event is from 6.30pm to 8.30pm in Anthony Lounge (Church side of campus); poetry reading will start at 7.00pm. Admission is $5.00. Pastries, desserts, and beverages will be sold at the event. There will be a short recitation competition with prizes (including a poetry book, and gift cards to Borders Books & Music and Starbucks Coffee).

The atmosphere is casual; you are advised to bring a pillow to sit upon, or to lay on, etc.

Hope to see you all there!

Junior/Senior Prom Benefit: NY/DC Pictures CDs
by Mit dem Paukenschlag (eddiejensen)
at April 3rd, 2006 (07:06 pm)

current mood: disappointed
current song: Piano Concerto no. 21 in C Major: I. Allegro con brio (WA Mozart)

Guys...I'm slightly disappointed. For those of you who went on the New York/Washington DC trip, we still are going to do that Photodump. Only now we have a different goal. With the help of some of the Juniors, we are going to compile the best of the best of the NY/DC trip photos and sell them to help us defray the costs of ASA's Prom on Saturday 29 April 2006. Essentially, please help us help you.

With that, we need your NY/DC trip photos! Bring them to me ASAP. I prefer CDs, but I have a memory card reader; therefore, you can bring your memory cards and I'll do the transferring onto CD. (I'll even burn a CD of your pictures for you.)

Now, you're wondering about the finished CDs, right? Further information will be made available in future posts.

Any questions can be directed to me (eddie.jensen@gmail.com) and I'll pass them on to the appropriate people.
